  • JMMS Track Fundraiser flyerJMMS Track Renovation & Giving Tree Fundraiser

    John Muir Fundraising Committee (JMFC) has committed $15,000 to the renovation of the school’s track! Help us match JMFC’s contribution and raise and additional $15,000 to cover the cost of the renovation. Families and businesses that contribute $250 OR MORE will be recognized with their names on a new ceramic mosaic giving tree that will be prominently displayed on Mustang Field.

    GIVING TREE SPONSORSHIP LEVELS:

    $250 - Mustang sponsor: Family/Company name on small leaf
    $500 - Colt sponsor: Family/Company name on bigger leaf
    $1000 - Bronco sponsor: Family/Company name on largest leaf
    $2500 - Stallion sponsor: Family/Company name on fruit/branch

    SCHOOL-WIDE INCENTIVES FOR REACHING FUNDRAISING BENCHMARKS:

    $5000 - Feeling squirrely!  Admin & Counseling staff will wear squirrel suits.
    $7500 - Seeing green! Faculty will color their hair green.
    $10,000 - Cookies for all!  Students receive a free cafeteria cookie.
    $15,000 - Bean break!  All students get to swap 1 bean run for a free choice P.E.Day!

  • John Muir Middle School has experienced tremendous growth over the past few years.  Unfortunately, we have now reached capacity.  After much deliberation, the 花秀直播 Unified School District has determined that we will not be allowing new enrollments at Muir for the ‘23-‘24 school year.

    Capping a school is an extremely difficult decision, but sometimes it becomes necessary. We completely understand how disruptive and difficult this is for parents who expected to have their children enroll at Muir. These decisions are based on the capacity of our schools, staffing, and pathways.

    The capping of Muir will be reviewed on an ongoing basis. We will return capped students to Muir as soon as there is space. Students who are capped from Muir will be placed on a waiting list based on the date and time of enrollment and that list will be maintained until a student is returned to Muir.   We will call families if a space opens up.     All three middle schools in 花秀直播 are great learning environments for students and we know that students will be successful in any 花秀直播 school.

Principal's Message 2023-2024

    Good evening, this is Dr. Miller, principal at John Muir Middle School with this week’s update.

    This is Teacher Appreciation Week and a great time to send your child’s teachers an email or note thanking them for all that they have done for your child this year.

    Wednesday evening at 6:30, our Instrumental Music Association presents their spring concert. Tickets will be available at the door.

    Looking ahead to next week, finals will take place on next Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, May 15, 16, and 17. Students will be required to turn in their textbooks in each class as they take their final.

    Finally, for 8th grade students, the 花秀直播 Girls and Boys wrestling program will host tryouts for incoming freshmen on May 29th for girls and June 3rd for boys. No experience is required and please see the attached flyers for more information. BOYS | GIRLS

Getting to Know Muir

  • The 花秀直播 Unified School District officially denounces racism as the product of white default/ supremacy culture and recognizes the impact of systemic and generational racism as traumatic to our country, community, and school district. In light of continuing racial violence, including the killings of Breonna Taylor, George Floyd, Andres Guardado, Dijon Kizzee, and many others, we also recognize that Black people in this country have had a unique and traumatic history in terms of racial relations, equality, and equity. We stand with the truthful and humane statement that all lives cannot matter until Black lives and the lives of indigenous and people of color (BIPOC) matter. We are taking steps to actively work towards being fully anti-racist, not only in word, but also in policy, practice, and accountability. Change is rarely easy, but with the support and cooperation of the entire 花秀直播 school community we know that we will reflect a district that is truly unified.
